Numark has seen DJing evolve over the years from vinyl to CD and now to digital music. They've decided it's time to take the next leap forward and have done so with the HDX. The HDX is a hybrid vinyl-based CD and MP3 turntable. Equipped with a removable 80GB hard disk and a real vinyl top for scratching, DJs can now move on to digital scratching and mixing without giving up the torque and feel of real vinyl.
As a DJ myself, I know it's a pain in the ass hauling records all over the place, but do it because I still havent accepted digital DJing yet. With the Numark HDX, I might just give in and go for it. The best part is you can hook it up to a Mac or PC for ultimate control and functionality. Introducing... the Numark HDX

Guten Tag is one of those cool, fresh, brand new geek-tools, which does in this case, search not only at technorati, further more is including Wikipedia, Flickr, del.icio.us and Odeo.
Not on the basis of simple search terms, it use tags (huh, what's the difference? oh yeah!). With this you can differnce your search: for definitions, bookmarks, postings, podcasts and videos. The only one which is missing there is the integration of tools like Blogdigger, Baidu or The Hype Machine (cause of the audio-search!) and I could say "Good Bye" to Google...
very nice ... and now I have to say: "Gute Nacht!"

The midiGun is a MIDI controller in a gun. Not a real gun, but one covered in slightly camp flouro green plastic, lots of knobs and switches, a crossfader on the bottom of the barrel, a laser sight and lots more, detailed on this chart. It's designed using a Doepfer pocket electronics module to control DJ software.

The curious new Viktor & Rolf boutique in Milan has fashion lovers hitting the ceiling. The Dutch fashion duo created it alongside architect Siebe Tettero and designer Sherrie Zwail. Shop to your hearts content... but bring some Dramamine. The clothes are the only things in the store that are not upside down - even the store's facade, front door and fitting rooms are inverted. Neck braces and LSD not included (and if you're wheelchair-bound, just stay home... please). You can read about it here, here and here. For a slideshow of the store, go to Viktor & Rolf's web site. (after getting through all the Flash stuff, click on 'boutique.')

Microsoft erased the Apple-HQOn the left Apple's Head Quarter (1 Infinite Loop, Cupertino, CA 95014, USA) at Google Maps and on the right the same location at Microsoft's new virtual earth.
I guess they want to create their own reality and brainwash all Micro$uck$ Winblows users. :P
Oh and by the way ... Microsoft want to patent "Custom Emoticons" - which means smileys. They applied this patent already in early 2004, and since 21th of July it is now public. (US-Pat-Nr.: 20050156873)
To all my friends in the US: I hope you get what this means and what could happen if you guys don't do anything to
You think my answer is stupid? READ THIS!

| Sofa as MIDI controller |
[23 Jul 2005|10:00pm] |
A German designer calling himself Seppoman has built a Midibox control system into a sofa. If two people are sitting down, they can output three control values each - left and right buttock weight and how far the person is leaning back. Obviously, the possibilities are pretty much endless. If you've got shares in keyboard manufacturers, sell them now. [More info]. Previously, Seppoman built this incredibly cool rackmounted Commodore 64 SID synth.
